Case study
GENIVY: founding an international guild of students
Aldier helped found GENIVY, a guild owned by its student members that organises the economy of university campuses and pays students to run it. As Founding Partner, Aldier designed the institution from its economic model to its public launch.

The opportunity
On every university campus, students already trade, deliver, print and serve one another. Little of that work is organised, fairly paid or recognised by employers. GENIVY set out to change this with an institution owned by students that turns campus work into income, experience and a verified record of achievement.
The solution
Designing the institution end to end
Aldier brought all five of its practices to the work, as a single programme under one lead partner.
Strategy and governance
The economic model; a constitution with five protections no vote can change, including an asset lock and a bar on outside shareholders; a board of independent trustees; and a federation that allows each country to register its own national guild.
Standards and accountability
Sector Councils of practitioners that set and certify the standard of members' work, and a public calendar of audited accounts, campus spending and results.
Technology and data
The platform plan for membership, payments and the GENIVY Card, a single student identity across every service the guild runs.
Data protection and safeguarding
The policies and controls that protect members' data, safety and money, adopted by the guild in October 2026.
Identity, website and relations
The name, identity and institutional website, designed and built in Aldier Studio, together with the case to patrons, universities and partners.

The impact
An institution ready to open its founding campus
GENIVY has adopted its constitution and policies, and is inviting its founding patrons while it forms its founding Board of Trustees and first Sector Council. Its public website sets out its governance, policies and public commitments in full.
Aldier's role is designed to reduce over time. Under a staged handover written into the constitution, each function passes to the guild's own team once its trustees are satisfied, and every transfer is published.
